Im a little disappointed that 2 days ago Obama got elected in as president of the United States of America. , I am very upset about how the American people voted. I am a strong believer on working for your money; therefor Obama's slogan of "spread the wealth" doesnt go over in my book well at all. I dont believe in taking money from the successful working man's pocket and giving it to the poor soul who would rather sit on their couch than go out, get a job, and work themselves up in life. As for the people that are in millions of dollars worth of dept from credit cards, Sorry I dont mean to be blunt; but it deffinatly wasnt me who got you in to that position so what should i be punished for it? I shouldnt.
As for the health care plan that Obama has: First of all, it is possible to get health care. It is alot easier to get health care in the States than it is in any other country such as, Italy, France etc. ect. Maybe the people that aren't finding enough money in their pockets to receive this health care should look at the neccesities in life, instead of the wants. We need less consumers here, instead of splurging for that 50' flat screen t.v, ever thought of putting that money away towards a health care plan? Maybe my views are a little extreme, but if we make health care "affordable" enough for every American than will it even be worth having? Will it be like going into the D.M.V to just take a number? Who knows. The reason that health care costs money is because doctors and nurses need to get paid, they have families too, the hospitals have to keep running, and have enough money to buy the new machines for testings and prosedures. The money is going to have to come from somewhere.
The fact that Obama wants to reform "no child left behind" saddens me greatly as well. This is a slap in the face to every child, and adult who want to go places in life, and not take school for granted; who want to succeed, and not just be the tipical "low life" who could care less about school. Why should our tax payers have to pay for a student who has absolutly no concern for school? Also, Obamas beliefs that teachers should not have to spend the whole year on teaching students the facts that they need to know for the standerdized tests; like the MEA's, SAT;s ect. ect. I dont know about where you guys are going to college but in order to get into alot of schools in the United States you need to have taken the SAT's, and you also take a test to see what your level is for college classes. Schools are based on tests and i think that is what school should be kept at. Im sorry America, but school is not all fun and games, Yes, we do actually have to prove what we have learned. There is another plan that Obama has and it has to deal with college. Now this issue actually makes me think what the heck the American people were thinking when they voted this man into the white house. Obama proposes that he will create a new American Opportunity Tax Credit worth 4,000$ dollars in exchange for 100 hours of community service. Are you kidding me Obama? I dont know if you have checked into the facts, But he is "supposedly" going to make it possible for some (key word: some) American college students to get 4,000$ of "free" money in college, but the student who receives that will have to give 100 hours in community service as a return. I hope we realize as Americans (and we should by now) that nothing is free in life, that money is going to have to come from somewhere, someones pocket. It may not be yours, but it could be mine. Why should I have to help out college students when i am one myself, I am finding a way to pay for school, with loans and with my own money. It really isn't all that impossible. Oh, and guess what I am not going to have to perform any sort of "community service" for anyone. What is the world coming to? Who is going to want to take the time to make sure that all these students performed the full 100 hours? I am sure whoever it is isn't going to do it for free, so were going to have to pay them too. I have learned that nothing is free in life, I have taken out loans for school and realize that i am going to have to pay all that money back. I am also quite positive that it will be a small amount of American college students that will be eligible for such thing. -The people we will be handing our money over to, who just dont feel like getting jobs. Sad.
The proposal from Obama about "green living" is also a crock. "5 million green-collar jobs". He wants to provide short-term relief for Americans facing "pain" at the pump. I dont know what that sounds like to you...but it writes WELFARE all over it for me. Isnt that what we want to rid in our country? Hmm...could have fooled me. In all reality we have pretty freakin good gas prices, compared to some countries who are looking at well over 10.00$ a gallon! He proposes alot of other ideas about "green living", yet most of them will take over 30 years to even happen...By that time Obama will no longer be in office. Thank America for a maximum of 8 year presidential term.
A big issue that i am completly on the opposite side of Obama is immagration: Yes, Obama and Biden want to "perserve the integrity of our borders" but it isnt what it sounds like. Obama wants to fix the dysfunctional immigration bureaucracy and increase the number of "legal immigrants" to keep families together and meet the demands for jobs that employers cannot fill. First of all, this is America and i think instead of wasting all the money from the "actual" American citizens pocket to make sure that the illegal immigrants get to stay here, why not just send them back. Now on this issue I can get a little extreme, so forgive me. I do like how Obama is going to make the illegal immagrants pay a fine, learn English, and go back to the borders to become a citizen (Now I am only saying that I like this idea on last resort). And believe me it isn't asking for very much. Like i said this is America, the dominant language is English so anyone coming in should know it. Personally i just think it would be so much easier if we rounded all the illegal immigrants up, sent them right back across the border and said "see ya". Any really, lets be serious...you think Obama is going to go around and find all the illegal immigrants and make them do that plan that he is proposing? HA!
Poverty issue: Plan and blank in my book: Take money from the hard working man's pocket, (who had little to nothing and worked his way up in life, who have families to support too, and house payments to make, bills to pay, companies to keep up and running) and put it in the "low-income" persons hands. Im sorry but America is the land of opputunity, get your ass off the couch and get a job instead of living off welfare for crying out loud. When welfare was founded in the 1930s by FDR it was for temporary relief, not to sit pretty on. And now look it at, some people on welfare are living better than some of the working class. Thats so screwed up.
Dont get me even started on taxes: again tax the "rich" guy. I believe in a flat tax system, whatever you make you are taxed the same amount as the person who makes less than you. Look into it, sounds pretty good to me. I also think its a little funny that he proposes the idea to enable 40-million middle-class Americans to do their own taxes in less than 5 minutes without an accountant. I do my own taxes, not that hard, yes to some people. So what are you going to do Obama? Provide a tax class for middle-class Americans? What a joke. Or maybe the 5 minute deal will work out bacause we wont have to deal with that many numbers considering the only things left in our pockets when he gets done with us is going to be "CHANGE". Some people may think that what Obama proposes for taxes is greater than sliced bread. But if we actually think about and wonder where all the money is going to come from, and who we are going to be taxing we will see that we voted wrong. If we tax the big companies and the wealthy people than the nation could be in greater risk for a change for the worse. Meaning: big corporations will potentially up their prices on alot of things the some people will not be able to afford. No money to give to big corporations, means they will have to shut their doors, means they might lose their jobs, and if all that happens, this country could be in great danger of a depression. I wasnt around in the 1930's but i heard that it wasnt too cool using rashin's to buy milk, and flour.
So, Obama wants to help out the vets that are coming home from Iraq and Afghanastan with money that will improve some minor details with the VA. I ask what about the vets that fought in the previous wars like Gulf War, Nam, and others that I didnt mention? What is he going to do for them? They are veterans as well, they need help as well. They are why we put our little heads on our pillows at night and sleep safe, so i say if you are going to improve the VA for the troops coming home than you should improve it for every single vet that is an American Citizen. Now some of Obamas promises are to help the VA improve its health care for all vets. But i am really spectical of this statement because i believe they are over looked an immense amount. Which again, is sad. We'll just have to see what actually happens in this department.
Being a conservative you should know how i feel on the issue of abortion. And Obama supports it. I think we should give everyone a chance at life, no matter what circumstance. Obviously we are doing something wrong when we are killing off more innocent children that have no chance to live a life, than the criminals that are sitting in our prisons who shouldnt even have the right to be sitting there. I believe that alot of American woman are now using abortion for their "birth control" method and that disgusts me. How can you live with yourself after you just killed a life? If you dont have the funds, or if you dont feel as though you are old enough to raise a child, then i say freakin wrap it before you tap it. I am such a strong supporter of "pro life" because i myself could have been just "killed", not given a chance at life. But i wasnt, my parents adopted me, and i thank god to this day that my biological mother wasnt just thinking of herself, and wanted the best for me, i thank her for loving me enough to give me a home and a family who could take care of me and love me the way she couldnt. We need more people like her in the United States.
Another issue that I believe we are walking right into a land mind, is the war. Obama wants to pull out of Iraq in 16 months. Now think about this, imagine what could happen to this country if we just up and pull out of the war. Look at Vietnam for example: It was called a waste of a war, and when soldiers came home they were literally spit upon, i know this because my father fought in that war. We cannot afford to lose this war, we have put too much money, too much time, and lost too many lives for this war. Pulling out now could put this country is alot of danger, danger that Obama has never faced in all of his years. The reason why alot of people are so anti-war is because they are most likely getting their information from the news. But I bet alot of you didnt know that the Iraqi people- INCLUDING WOMAN got to vote for the first time in all of history a while back...because of us. We are not creating destruction, we are trying to create a good place for everyone to live, yes alot of lives have been lost in the mist of this war, but they were lost for the American people, and for the Iraqi people to live in a safe and non-dictator country. These things that i am talking about are not the typical facts that come up on your news channels. Do I think that we should eventually pull out of the war? Yes. But i believe that we should finish what we started, continue rebuilding what got lost, continue helping the Iraqi people. I believe that we should win this war. 6 years ago when we started this war, most of this country was for it...Now i believe those people are just now trying to take the easy way out. I am seriously worried what will happen to our beautiful land of the free home of the brave country if we do pull out of Iraq when Obama plans to...in just 16 months.
Obama is very young, naive, and inexperienced. I believe that Americans voted him in for all the wrong reasons, I feel like i dont have to list them out. He is potentially trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. And yes America voted him in. I guess we will just have to sit and wait out this long battle ahead of us.
So now you know why I am disappointed about this election. Obama has made too many promises to the American people, he is trying to be the "popular" one. This will most likely lead to disappointment. I will like to see how he is going to get himself out of what he just got himself into. I hope and pray that some of the things he proposes will work out, as i am not ignorant towards change, just a little skeptical at this point.
In the meantime- God Bless America and Good Luck!
P.S I believe we need a clone of President Ronald Reagan to really make a change for the better for the United States of America.

Peace and Love :-)
Obama wins.
All we need to do as US citizens is keep our heads up, come together as the Americans that we are, support our country, appreciate what we have, work hard to get what we want, keep the faith and take one step at a time. Just think America, only 4 more years before we can really make a "CHANGE".
